I’m sure this track is really unappealing to a lot of the oM fans, but I actually really like it. At the very least, people should appreciate oM for going out and doing something really different for a change.
Experimentation is fine, and, in fact, Barnes has proven in the past that he’s capable of wild experimentation that’s also successful. I think the only interesting/enjoyable part of this track is the spoken bit. That’s the part where you can hear his flamboyant/funky/psychedelic roots. I find his attempts to experiment with noise and dissonance to be uninteresting and uninspired. I’m obviously buying the EP though, lol.
